Join us for a weekend of programming, discussion, food, and entertainment to celebrate 50 years of School Within a School!  On June 10th, 11th and 12th we will gather at Brookline High School to share memories, visit with classmates, meet current SWS students and spark new discussions about the importance of democratic education. 

 

The SWS 50th Celebration kicks off Friday, June 10th at 7 pm with informal potlucks organized by volunteer alumni "Coordinators“ from your time in SWS. Gather with SWS friends-- or make new ones-- from the years before or after you. Find out what they remember, loved, and struggled with, in an informal setting. Share a dish and a story. We will update out website with more details about where the group's potluck will be held, and sign-ups to bring something to share. If you are a more recent graduate of SWS (Class of 2015-2022), the Friday night potluck will be held at BHS. Current SWS students are planning an event for you!

 

On Saturday, June 11 we will have a full day of activities at Brookline High School.  Some of these events will include tours of the new buildings and of the 4th floor, interest-based workshops facilitated by alums, a massive Town Meeting, lunch, dinner, and an evening of entertainment with alumni and current SWS students performing. *We will also film and stream our Town Meeting for those of you who might not be able to attend in person, along with a few other workshops.*

 

On Sunday, June 12 we will wrap up the festivities from 10 am-12 pm with interest-based groups, reflections on the weekend, and a chance to say goodbye.
